From Strengths Within, Families Grow
Empowering vulnerable mothers in Kenya to heal, rise, and build sustainable futures.
OUR STORY
Jonica Foundation was founded in response to the deep gaps in support for vulnerable mothers in Kenya. Women at the intersections of poverty, widowhood, disability, gender-based violence, and neglected health conditions face compounding challenges that are rarely addressed holistically.
The founder’s personal journey with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) revealed a silence, stigma, and lack of accessible support for hormonal health. As she engaged with women facing violence, early motherhood, economic insecurity, and social exclusion, a clear pattern emerged: women were resilient and motivated, but systems failed to support them fully.
Jonica Foundation was born to centre empathy, dignity, and community truth, creating a platform where mothers are heard, supported, and empowered to rebuild their lives with agency and confidence.
