Who We Are

Jonica Foundation is a women-led, community-driven organization that exists because we have seen, firsthand, the gaps that vulnerable women and girls face every day,  gaps in access to health information, gaps in support systems, and gaps in opportunities to live with dignity.

We are not just an organization; we are a community. A safe space where women and girls can learn, share, and grow without fear of stigma or exclusion.

Many of us come from the same communities we serve. We understand the realities of navigating health systems, economic challenges, disability barriers, and societal expectations. That is why our work is rooted in empathy, trust, and lived experience.

At Jonica Foundation, we believe every woman and girl,  regardless of her background or circumstance,  deserves to be informed, supported, and empowered to take control of her life.

Our Programs

Mwili Wangu, SRHR Program

Many Women and girls struggle silently with hormonal changes related to menopause, Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), and reproductive health challenges, often leading to fatigue, emotional distress, and reduced productivity

Sauti Ya Mama

Every women and girl has a story, yet many go unheard. Sauti Ya Mama provides platforms for mothers to share journeys of survival, resilience, and transformation through podcasts, digital storytelling, and live community sessions.

Imarika Program

Economic independence is critical for women and girls to rebuild lives. The Imarika Fund provides small startup grants, mentorship, and business training, helping mothers transform ideas into income-generating ventures.

Pamoja Pulse

Change is sustainable when communities are involved. Pamoja Pulse brings together mothers, families, local leaders, NGOs, and institutions for dialogues, exhibitions, and advocacy events.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower vulnerable women and girls by providing inclusive access to health information, practical tools, and community support, enabling them to take control of their health, amplify their voices, and build sustainable livelihoods.

Our Vision

An inclusive society where every woman and girl can access the information, support, and opportunities they need to live with dignity, confidence, and independence.

Our Values

Guided by empathy, integrity, and inclusivity, we empower mothers with skills and resources, foster strong communities, and celebrate resilience in overcoming adversity.

Who we serve

Jonica Foundation works with:

  • Women with disabilities
  • Teen mothers
  • Women affected by Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) & Menopause
  • Survivors of gender-based violence (GBV)
  • Refugee and displaced women
whY WE EXIST

Women and Girls living at the intersections of violence, poverty, widowhood, disability, and neglected health conditions face layered and compounding challenges that are rarely addressed holistically. Many are expected to heal from trauma, provide for their families, and participate in economic life without adequate psychosocial support, reliable health information, or safe spaces to speak openly about their experiences. Existing interventions often address these challenges in isolation, focusing on skills training, emergency responses to violence, or health awareness, while overlooking how trauma, social exclusion, and untreated health realities fundamentally shape Women and Girls’s ability to rebuild their lives

Program Success Stories

Before this program, I thought my fatigue and mood swings were just ‘part of getting older.’ Now I understand my body, I take care of myself, and I feel proud to share what I’ve learned with my friends

"Mwili Wangu, Afya Yangu helped me see that I am not alone. Meeting other Women and Girls going through menopause gave me strength and hope"
