As an African man, shaped by the realities, resilience, and richness of our communities, I have witnessed the many faces of life from an early age. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation of the central role that mothers play, not only within the family unit, but as the
backbone of society itself. Mothers are nurturers, educators, providers, and silent pillars of strength, often carrying the heaviest burdens with little recognition or support.
It is from this understanding that my wife and I were inspired to establish Jonica Foundation.
Our vision was clear: to create a platform that intentionally supports and uplifts vulnerable mothers in Kenya, and ultimately across Africa. We recognized that when a mother is
empowered socially, economically, and emotionally entire families and communities are
transformed. Jonica Foundation was therefore founded to restore dignity, offer opportunity, and
create pathways for sustainable livelihoods for mothers who are too often left behind.
I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO),
whose vision, courage, and dedication brought this foundation to life. She has been the driving
force behind Jonica Foundation’s growth, steering it from an idea into an impactful institution.
Her leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to justice and equity for women and
mothers deserve the highest commendation.
As Chairman, I warmly welcome our Board of Trustees, Advisory Committee members,
partners, donors, and the entire Jonica Foundation team. Your belief in this mission and your
collective expertise strengthen our ability to serve with integrity and purpose. Together, we are
building an organization grounded in compassion, accountability, and community-driven impact.
As we move forward, Jonica Foundation remains committed to creating a society where every
